Föreläsning / Lecture: Hidden threats

Maksym Matsala defended his PhD in 2021 in Kyiv, Ukraine, working on change of forest ecosystems in Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.

Matsala works at SLU in Alnarp since 2022 and studies fire ecology, laser scanning of forests, and tree growth modeling. One important part of Maksym’s work is, in a deep collaboration with colleagues in Kyiv, to examine short- and long-term consequences of Russian war on Ukraine’s forests.
