Guided tour at Umeå konsthall

Guided tour at Umeå konsthall

Fredrik Lindqvist’s images are a combination of the graphic technique woodcuts and textiles. He depicts the world of today in the form of animals, fashion, pop culture, and urban worlds. A wild mix, where the humorous and the serious are in sharp contrast to each other. Welcome to a short introduction of the exhibition “The Story Never Ends”!

“I like the direct and exact approach of a woodcut. Printing the aggressive woodcut on soft, monochrome and patterned fabrics, creates what I feel is a pleasant contrast.”
– Fredrik Lindqvist

Fredrik Lindqvist was born in Kristianstad, 1968. Today, he lives and works in Arkelstorp in Skåne, and Ingolstadt in Bavaria, Germany. After studying at the Umeå Academy of Fine Arts 1993-97, he finished his education in Germany, at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, 1997–2000. Lindqvist’s work is represented, among other places, at Die Bayerische Staats Gemälde Sammlung in Münich, Nationalmuseum and Moderna Museet in Stockholm, The British Museum in London and Textilmuseet in Borås.
